A very brief update (as usual, these days) on what’s happening. First, my very last Rogue One Mission Briefing artist proof card is up for auction and ends Tuesday, November 8th. “The Fall of the Walker” is the last of those cards. Going up on Thursday will be the first of only 3 Star Wars Masterwork 2 artist proof cards, Princess Leia from A New Hope. I had 4 of these cards, but the very first one was donated to Steve Sansweet’s Rancho Obi-Wan yearly auction. I don’t yet have the link, but when I do, it’ll be posted.
Lastly, there will be a Patreon page for my work! Yessiree, I’m starting one of them things. Over the past ten years, I have struggled to squish the most amount of work into each day as possible. Of course it’s unavoidable, such is life-by-deadline. However, it does not at all permit time to work on a variety of projects – be they personal or commissioned – that let me to grow as an Illustrator (or artist or painter, whatever fits), and while that sounds frivolous, it isn’t. In fact, it’s essential, and for the past two years or so I’ve felt starved for the chance to draw, sketch, and paint different subjects, and explore ideas and atmosphere, and bring what I learn to every art project in front of me.
And so the reason for Patreon. I’m hoping to be able to finance a day a week, or put together a few days a month, or something like that, to work on my watercolors sketches, paint some different things and learn.
No worries if it’s something you are not in to, I’ll still be here on my site as well, and your interest and visits are always appreciated. But if you are interested in becoming a Patreon member, please check back as I should have the links and info set up by the end of the week. As always, tell me what you think! What kind of rewards would be good? I’m all ears. 🙂 Until then…
