Preview for Perna Studios’ Elementals trading card set
It has been a crazy winter, both weather-wise and work-wise! All my major contracts are complete, although there are several on the horizon (yay!) and I look forward to chatting about those.
Below are a few things I’ve finished that can be shown, such as the preview for Perna Studio’s “Elementals” trading card set, due out soon. (they are also on Facebook, if you prefer to visit them there… Perna Studios Facebook ). Rogue One series 2 is also done, but cannot show those quite yet. From what I understand, it doesn’t look like there will be any more Rogue One cards, so that is that. My cards for Star Wars 40th Anniversary are also complete! I really wish I could have had more time to put into them because the Star Wars 30th Anniversary was my very first sketch card set! Gosh time flies……
I also did some cards for Upper Deck’s Spiderman set, as well as Topps’s Walking Dead season 6, which was surprisingly fun… I’m sure people hate it, but I do love painting me some trees. And blood & guts are fun too! Though I did very little of that for this set. Should I be fortunate enough to participate in a future set, it’ll be oozy-goozy guts everywhere. 🙂
I also have a couple of new watercolors posted on my Patreon, along with a short tale that explains where each one was from. There are many, many more to come! You can see them here: www.patreon.com/ingridhardy and don’t forget, if you wish to count yourself among those amazing few who help keep a “traditional” artist fed, as little as a dollar a month (refusable by you any time) helps me to make time to continue learning and growing as an artist. And you get free Giclée prints!

Chirrut vs Stormtrooper – Topps’ Rogue One series 1 artist proof card. Ebay auction ends February 7, 2017
Time has flown by since my last update! There has been too much to do, and that will continue for about another four weeks. After that my commission list will be open again and I really look forward to doing some different things!
My cards for Rogue One series 2 are finished, and I’m nearly done with Star Wars 40th anniversary. Then I’ll try to make the deadline for Upper Deck’s Spiderman and finish up The Walking Dead set! When all these sets were offered, I didn’t know the deadlines would be so close together… Oy. Live and learn. 🙂 The the last cards for Perna Studio’s Elementals set – a TON of fun to work on, I just love the set.
Another set close to my heart is Star Wars 40th, of course because I’m a fan, but also because the Star Wars 30th set was my very first sketch card set. Ten years ago! I honestly can’t believe it has been that long – it truly doesn’t feel that way. My kids were still kids, our Teckel had not yet come into our lives, my mum and aunt were both still healthy, I had living uncles… Lots of things have changed since then. But good things have happened too! I’ve made friends, both real and virtual (and I appreciate both kinds more than anyone will ever know), my goal in life has become much clearer, and I love my unpredictable job.
What has changed for you in the past ten years? I hope good things have happened for you as well. If you are feeling chatty, share your thoughts!

Welp…… It’s been a rollercoaster of a year. In the world, we lost so many public figures including Gene Wilder, Robert Vaughn, Florence Henderson, Fidel Castro, John Glenn, George Michael, Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds, and unfortunately more. Personally it’s been full of ups and downs, with a couple of family events that have been difficult.
It’s easy to get mired in the nastiness that happens. This year, for me, there have been good things too – a trip to Europe that was more than memorable, my job is still here and I still love it, and most importantly my adult-kids are healthy and wonderful as is my other half. How about you? What makes you happy these days when you think about it?
I’ve a new post on my Patreon – a horse and his window. This one is a public post, have a look! 🙂
Also completed are two Witch cards from Perna Studio’s Witchcraft trading card set. These two are available from my Etsy store.
Please have a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year! Cheers!

The very last of my Star Wars Masterwork 2 cards is now done and available on Ebay. Rancho Obi-Wan has not yet given me the link to the Padmé card (a few posts below) but I’ll post it as soon as they do.
A new short post showing another watercolor is now up on my Patreon site! Early access to any new watercolors, or travel related art will be shown over there first. Sketch card related work will always be shown here, that does not change at all. Patreon is to help support my development outside the sketch card world, with outdoor/travel sketching, watercolors of many different topics, things like that. Your support over is immensely important and appreciated!
To all you American folk who pass by this site – Happy Fowl-Fest to you all, have a safe time of it. Gobble gobble!
The fates of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru
A short update, as there is a good deal of action in my studio this week. 😀 Two of my total of four Witchcraft AP cards are now gone, and the last two will be shown in a week or so. Nearly done with Rogue One Series 1 cards, I’ve been painting my AP cards for the previous set Mission Briefing, the latest of which you see here. Sketching has begun on Perna Studio’s Elementals set, and more sketching on the series of Europe watercolors, though that goes a bit slower.
The wonderful Steve Sansweet of Rancho Obi Wan has asked me once again if there was anything I could donate to their auction this year, and of course I was over the top honored to be asked! One of my Star Wars Masterworks 2 AP cards has been approved to be included in their fundraiser in November. If anyone wishes to have the link for that, once it is sent to me, just let me know. Again, that isn’t until (I think) the end of November or so. From the Rancho Obi Wan site:
Rancho Obi-Wan, Inc. is a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation whose specific purpose is to serve the public through the collection, conservation, exhibition and interpretation of Star Wars memorabilia and artifacts, using the collection to provide meaningful educational, aesthetic, intellectual and cultural experiences for a wide array of audiences and to carry out other charitable and educational activities associated with this goal. Funds raised are used for insurance, utilities, professional services, maintenance on the buildings, and protection and preservation of the collection. None is used to acquire collectibles. Monies raised also enable Rancho Obi-Wan to perform public outreach to schools and other charitable organizations and to support community programs.
The countdown to the Rogue One release is on! December 14th, and I intend to be there.
Kylo Ren, available for a 5-day auction on Ebay…
X-Wing, from “The Force Awakens” series 2 from Topps.
Back in the studio as of today! To those who chatted with me while I was away, it was great to talk to you! Please remind me of what I am supposed to do now, as I’m going through a few notes, but I don’t have all of them – planes, trains, automobiles, and buses have a funny way of eating up stuff… :-p
Above, are two AP cards painted just before I left, Kylo Ren
is available on Ebay for a 5 day auction.
My head is swimming. Taking awhile for jet lag to go away (hey, wait till your MY age…), but I’m glad to be back at it. An absolute must, along with current commissions and contracts of course, is time to explore the experiences of the trip that just ended, before it all fades away. It must be applied to my work now, my life now, and let it change whatever it must.
As I lose people around me, I can bring them with me at the same time – share experiences and in so doing let the past be what it was and welcome new points of view while respecting the old ones that made me and those close to me who we are.
Change is unavoidable, may as well jump into it!
