Art Theft!

IMPORTANT for all creators and people who purchase artwork!

Randy Martinez recently had his Star Wars Celebration art stolen from him which is, of course, devastating. There are a lot of scams out there, and many artists have had their work stolen from them (including myself) over the years. Making a living in this line of work is challenging, and dirtbags that lie and steal really don’t help.

I think Randy has gotten the Facebook site taken down, but of course it surely still continues in the murky waters of the internet. On behalf of Randy and all visual artist out there, please be sure to purchase artwork either directly from the artist themselves, OR from a link that particular artist provides. Purchasing T-Shirts, prints, etc, from third-party vendors is becoming more and more perilous for both buyers and sellers of legitimate art. Help us all by supporting your favorite creators directly or through the links those creators provide. Thank you for reading this, and feel free to share the knowledge! ♥

Art Update!

Preview for Perna Studios’ Elementals trading card set

It has been a crazy winter, both weather-wise and work-wise! All my major contracts are complete, although there are several on the horizon (yay!) and I look forward to chatting about those.

Below are a few things I’ve finished that can be shown, such as the preview for Perna Studio’s “Elementals” trading card set, due out soon. (they are also on Facebook, if you prefer to visit them there… Perna Studios Facebook ). Rogue One series 2 is also done, but cannot show those quite yet. From what I understand, it doesn’t look like there will be any more Rogue One cards, so that is that. My cards for Star Wars 40th Anniversary are also complete! I really wish I could have had more time to put into them because the Star Wars 30th Anniversary was my very first sketch card set! Gosh time flies……

I also did some cards for Upper Deck’s Spiderman set, as well as Topps’s Walking Dead season 6, which was surprisingly fun… I’m sure people hate it, but I do love painting me some trees. And blood & guts are fun too! Though I did very little of that for this set. Should I be fortunate enough to participate in a future set, it’ll be oozy-goozy guts everywhere. 🙂

I also have a couple of new watercolors posted on my Patreon, along with a short tale that explains where each one was from. There are many, many more to come! You can see them here: www.patreon.com/ingridhardy  and don’t forget, if you wish to count yourself among those amazing few who help keep a “traditional” artist fed, as little as a dollar a month (refusable by you any time) helps me to make time to continue learning and growing as an artist. And you get free GiclĂ©e prints!

Knaresborough England – How To Get The Print For Free

They’re here! Measuring 8.5 x 11, this is the first one done! 12 pieces of art are complete so far, and this is the first one to become a GiclĂ©e print. There are 20 copies, and Patrons get one free, as well as one free from each print as they become available.

Also keeping at least two from each edition as a “master set” for anyone interested down the road. That’ll be a collection of at least 50 similar-sized prints (either one at the time through Patreon, or as one of two collections at the end of it).

Working on watercolor 13 this weekend, and look forward to showing the completed piece.

$1.00 a month helps me continue to complete and share work. This is the only way I can continue to learn and grow as an artist. You are important!

Chirrut vs Stormtrooper – Topps’ Rogue One series 1 artist proof card. Ebay auction ends February 7, 2017

Time has flown by since my last update! There has been too much to do, and that will continue for about another four weeks. After that my commission list will be open again and I really look forward to doing some different things!

My cards for Rogue One series 2 are finished, and I’m nearly done with Star Wars 40th anniversary. Then I’ll try to make the deadline for Upper Deck’s Spiderman and finish up The Walking Dead set! When all these sets were offered, I didn’t know the deadlines would be so close together… Oy. Live and learn. 🙂 The the last cards for Perna Studio’s Elementals set – a TON of fun to work on, I just love the set.

Another set close to my heart is Star Wars 40th, of course because I’m a fan, but also because the Star Wars 30th set was my very first sketch card set. Ten years ago! I honestly can’t believe it has been that long – it truly doesn’t feel that way. My kids were still kids, our Teckel had not yet come into our lives, my mum and aunt were both still healthy, I had living uncles… Lots of things have changed since then. But good things have happened too! I’ve made friends, both real and virtual (and I appreciate both kinds more than anyone will ever know), my goal in life has become much clearer, and I love my unpredictable job.

What has changed for you in the past ten years? I hope good things have happened for you as well. If you are feeling chatty, share your thoughts!

New sketch for watercolors from the Patreon-supported project Drawn and Divided. Your support helps this project become a book AND supporters receive free prints!

This week marks the beginning of something new. In shameless promotion of my Drawn and Divided project, I’ve gotten 10 prints from CatPrint to give away! I now have TWO prints to offer for FREE those amazing people who’d like to support my project on Patreon.

During the year, you will also get a collection of prints and useable postcards of already completed watercolors, and those in progress. The goal is 100 watercolors! There might be an acrylic piece in there too, but that remains to be seen.

This weekend I’ll be setting up a poll over there for your input, so be sure to check that out!

For as little as $1 a month, you will be supporting my on-going project Drawn and Divided. Consisting mostly of watercolors, but may well include other mediums depending on the subjects I’ll be sketching or painting, this project takes a look at the world by way of my travel sketches and on-site photos. What do you get out of it? Well, aside for the wonderful feeling of being part of a creative effort, you will also get free prints, or sets of postcard versions of the sketches… Even collections. I already have a series of 12 watercolors that, one by one with your help, will be shared with you. Please don’t be afraid, you can reject a month or even cancel if you change your mind, but levels start at just one dollar a month! Other levels include $3, $5, and $7, so there is something for everyone, and everyone will get something out of it.

Some of my horse related pieces might become part of the deal too, if anyone wishes it! As of today, I have two horse prints to start things going – to anyone pledging $1 a month, I’ll send you the set of two prints. This will let me reproduce the watercolors! Visit my Patreon to join in.

These are the two prints I’ll send you, and below them are two samples of the twelve (so far) watercolors.

One of two free prints for becoming a Patron! Gloss print, approximately 6 x 9 inches
