New Rogue One Page

It’s Saturday! Housecleaning, laptop cleaning… le sigh. BUT, the weather is getting better so that also means walking the dog and sketching outside! 😀 It also means continuing my Drawn and Divided project. On deck is an absolutely ah-maz-ing bridge some friends of ours traveled over on their trip to Spain this year. Obviously I couldn’t do any on-site sketching, but they’ve given me permission to sketch from their photos, so I do invite you to stick around for that. That bridge is gorgeous. The whole country looks gorgeous. Before that however, I’ll be finishing the watercolor of the boat mast in Nyborg, Denmark. All those folds and pleats – I couldn’t not sketch that while there…

For now, there is a new page up for all the cards I did for Topps’ Rogue One series 2 trading card set. Please forgive the messy appearance…. 😶  Do let me know if there are any problems with the images. ♥

Have a fantastic weekend!

April Update

Rogue One series 2 Artist Proof card. One fine morning on Jakku, there was a Walker… 2.5 x 3.5 inches on official Topps series two cardstock.

New pieces – an 8 x 10 and a few new personal sketch/art cards! As well, an Artist Proof card on Ebay that finishes Saturday.

By the way, these PSCs are my way of trying to improve my skills – basic drawing techniques always need to be worked on, and my paint application skills are far from reliable. Doing watercolors and sketches for my Drawn and Divided project on Patreon, is really and truly helping me continue the learning process, and have a pretty good time while doing it.

So the personal cards are actually a series in their own right, from the beginning of Lord of the Rings, and from The Force Awakens on because last year marked my 10 year anniversary having sketch card be a part of my job (but I had no time to do anything about it.

If you enjoy looking at any of these (crossing my fingers that you do!) stick around, there should be a good deal more. This weekend I will also have the time to finish the next Drawn and Divided piece – the folded boat mast. Strengthen drawing skills, you must…! That’ll be on my Patreon. 🙂

Rogue One, For The Last Time

Rogue One series 2 Artist Proof card. One fine morning on Jakku, there was a Walker… 2.5 x 3.5 inches on official Topps series two cardstock.

This is one of very few available artist proof cards (of mine) from the Rogue One series 2 trading card set from Topps. There will be one, maybe two others that’ll be on Ebay when I get the chance to paint them, the other two are spoken for.

To my knowledge, there will not be any other Rogue One sets. I going to make a reasonably safe guess and say that there will instead be a Last Jedi set… 😀  …and I can’t wait! Can’t wait for the movie, as well.

Seeing as this is now ten years since sketch cards have become part of my job(s) (and actually it was last year, but I was too busy to do anything), I’m trying to do two series of art cards/sketch cards on my own card stock. This then permits me to paint any character or scene I wish without fear of non-approval.

All the Star Wars movies ( because – I love them) and all the Lord of the Rings movies (because – eye candy) and probably a few other licenses, just because they interest me. So if this is the kind of thing you like, stay tuned and I’ll be posting them as time allows!

And my Patreon is going quite nicely also! The latest travel sketch is not yet done, but I did post a graphite landscape of an area nearby, and a painting of the ancient lake (yes I know the entire planet is technically ancient, but apparently some truly ancient fossils have been found there) that is in the area there. More to follow on that!

For now, thank you for having stopped by, and please come back! Live long and prosper.

Art Theft!

IMPORTANT for all creators and people who purchase artwork!

Randy Martinez recently had his Star Wars Celebration art stolen from him which is, of course, devastating. There are a lot of scams out there, and many artists have had their work stolen from them (including myself) over the years. Making a living in this line of work is challenging, and dirtbags that lie and steal really don’t help.

I think Randy has gotten the Facebook site taken down, but of course it surely still continues in the murky waters of the internet. On behalf of Randy and all visual artist out there, please be sure to purchase artwork either directly from the artist themselves, OR from a link that particular artist provides. Purchasing T-Shirts, prints, etc, from third-party vendors is becoming more and more perilous for both buyers and sellers of legitimate art. Help us all by supporting your favorite creators directly or through the links those creators provide. Thank you for reading this, and feel free to share the knowledge! ♥

Art Update!

Preview for Perna Studios’ Elementals trading card set

It has been a crazy winter, both weather-wise and work-wise! All my major contracts are complete, although there are several on the horizon (yay!) and I look forward to chatting about those.

Below are a few things I’ve finished that can be shown, such as the preview for Perna Studio’s “Elementals” trading card set, due out soon. (they are also on Facebook, if you prefer to visit them there… Perna Studios Facebook ). Rogue One series 2 is also done, but cannot show those quite yet. From what I understand, it doesn’t look like there will be any more Rogue One cards, so that is that. My cards for Star Wars 40th Anniversary are also complete! I really wish I could have had more time to put into them because the Star Wars 30th Anniversary was my very first sketch card set! Gosh time flies……

I also did some cards for Upper Deck’s Spiderman set, as well as Topps’s Walking Dead season 6, which was surprisingly fun… I’m sure people hate it, but I do love painting me some trees. And blood & guts are fun too! Though I did very little of that for this set. Should I be fortunate enough to participate in a future set, it’ll be oozy-goozy guts everywhere. 🙂

I also have a couple of new watercolors posted on my Patreon, along with a short tale that explains where each one was from. There are many, many more to come! You can see them here: www.patreon.com/ingridhardy  and don’t forget, if you wish to count yourself among those amazing few who help keep a “traditional” artist fed, as little as a dollar a month (refusable by you any time) helps me to make time to continue learning and growing as an artist. And you get free Giclée prints!
