card_narnia_3Thanks to EVERYONE for being patient with commissions! I’m halfway done with Topps’ Chrome Perspectives cards, and have two more sets in front of me, but am doing commissions in between. Doing those commissions keeps me sane, as set cards have to be done fairly quickly to make those deadlines… 🙂

Speaking of commissions, to the left is the third and final card in the commissioned Narnia series. A bit of artist license was taken as it is a mighty complex scene, and I basically needed to “draw” everything (with my paintbrush) on the background that I painted solid with a mix of warm colors to set up the mood. This is, as usual, 2.5 x 3.5 inches on personal card stock.

And below are a couple more “sketch a day” super fast doodles from my now always-present travel sketchbook. Except for one sketch not yet scanned, all of these are done in, like, 5 to 10 minutes. The point is to develop more confidence, move forward with drawing skills, and to have fun, because no matter what anyone tells you, if you don’t have at least a little fun in any job or career you do, it will destroy you.
