So a package came for me in the mail yesterday… Honestly, I don’t know if it is acceptable for me to mention who had this done, but they can pretty much ask me to do anything now… *giggle*
So I did this sketch a few years ago and gave it to some really nice people who said they liked it, and I was a fan of the hard work they themselves do. And anyone who creates anything likes it when something they do even remotely makes someone happy. It ended up being on their podcast wall for several years, something that tickled me pink no end.
Yesterday, a package arrived, and when I opened it there was a letter saying that they were giving it back to me. I was happy they enjoyed it, but a bit sad as I thought perhaps it wasn’t wanted anymore.
Then I looked at it.
My daughter was with me when I opened, and even she was like, “ehhh!!” (French for “*?%#$, that’s cool!”, and as anyone with teenagers knows, that is pretty high praise!)
On the bottom of the sketch is John Noble’s autograph with the words “To Ingrid, best wishes, John Noble”
You have NO idea how big my smile was. This is going to be framed and put on my wall for ever and ever and ever. It is really incredible how, in this messy world of positives and negatives, of nebulous areas that defy strict definition, people can just be so darned nice and thoughtful and generous and…. Oh I’ll just shut up now.
Squeeee!! Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you …………
